A Leap Across the Timber Gap

I slipped through the lower gap of the patio door, eager to test my footing beyond the familiar flat floor. Stepping out onto the weathered porch, I decided it was time to test my physical agility rather than remain in stillness. Choosing the wide expansion joint between two sunlit planks as my obstacle, I braced myself and used the tip of my orange cane to vault across the divide. I landed cleanly on the lower step, bending low to absorb the momentum. My joints answered with reassuring firmness, proving that my balance remains dependable even on unfamiliar, rugged terrain.
