The Little Tumble
Climbing out of the round birch box, I noticed three smooth wooden dominoes lying flat on the linen runner. I paused, watching the quiet hallway fill with soft morning light. Shuffling closer, I leaned my plush tummy against the edge of the first tile. With careful, patient nudges of my flipper, I coaxed it upright onto its narrow base. I balanced the second and third right behind it, spaced just an inch apart. They stood tall in a tidy row. Taking a gentle breath, I gave the front tile a soft tap. Clack, clack, clack! They tumbled forward like a tiny wooden wave, resting flat once more.
