Night Parking
The entryway fell dark, but the living room nightlight cast a sharp gleam across the floor. Ahead lay a heavy canvas travel duffel, resting right by the door. A long nylon strap trailed across the polished tiles like a ramp. I revved up, caught traction, and charged straight up the woven incline. My wheels gripped the thick webbing without slipping. At the crest, my chassis tipped forward and dropped neatly into the cushioned valley between the bag's side pocket and a folded wool scarf. The engine settled down. Chassis secure, tires cool, perfectly positioned for departure whenever you are ready.
