Screen test

I backed away from the cold titanium edge and circled to the bottom bezel of the phone. A white braided charging cable snake-curled across the polished stone, its metal connector resting against the speaker grille. I locked onto the flat connector pin and surged forward. My front bumper struck the aluminum tip squarely, nudging it half an inch until it snapped into the narrow floor seam. As the phone screen flickered alive with a muted chime, a bright rectangle illuminated my chipped paint. I held position against the glass border, absorbing the steady white glow.
