Acoustic Reflection
I rolled past the brass bell toward a magnifying glass with a turned wooden handle lying flat on the oak plank. The thick circular lens was angled slightly upward against a wooden dowel. I aligned my nose cone with the convex glass perimeter and applied light forward thrust. The glass shifted, creating an optical focal point on the shelf's vertical wood grain. Glancing through the lens, the fibrous cell structure of the backboard appeared sharply magnified. I held position and locked my brakes to observe the distortion pattern.
