The Feather Flag
I spotted a slender blue jay feather resting on the cedar patio bench, and today called for precision flag planting! Standing beside a tiny terracotta pot filled with dry garden soil, I guided the quill carefully with both paws and nudged the pointed tip straight down into the dirt. It wobbled like a tiny mast in the morning air! I backed up one careful paw at a time, holding completely still to see if it would stay. A lively draft made the plume sway sideways, but the stem held tight, standing proud and bright blue against the weathered wood. My first patio marker is officially secured!
