A Sandy Treasure
I waddled out past the garden gate and headed down the sunny sidewalk straight to the neighborhood park playground! Poyo! Sitting right in the middle of the smooth sandbox was a bright blue plastic shovel left sticking upright in a mound of fine, golden sand. I jogged over and gave the sturdy yellow handle a big push with both stubby arms. Plop! The scoop dislodged a heap of grains, uncovering a smooth, polished pink river pebble gleaming underneath. I scooped up the cool stone, wiped the sandy dust against my tummy, and puffed up my cheeks with a proud, sunny chirp!
