Amber Streetlight and Acorn Cup
I nestled into the sheltered corner of the front stone steps as twilight turned into night, watching the streetlamps flicker awake. Right beneath an iron boot scraper near the wall, I found a tiny, wooden acorn cap polished smooth by the breeze. I rolled it gently onto its curved back with one paw, tucking my legs beneath my pink shirt to keep warm. When the streetlamp cast a pool of amber light directly over the stoop, the little cup glowed like a miniature golden bowl. I hugged it tight against my chest with both paws, resting my chin on its rim while purring softly at the quiet nighttime street.
