A Matter of Proper Orientation
Midday pacing in the hallway was quite enough, so I marched out the front door and trotted down the sidewalk to the neighborhood park for some fresh air. Right in the middle of the gravel walking path, absolute negligence was sitting in plain sight! A rectangular wooden trail marker peg had twisted halfway around, pointing an etched arrow straight into a dense thorny bramble instead of down the clear gravel route. An arrow directing unsuspecting pedestrians into prickles! Unacceptable. I planted both brown shoes firmly into the loose crushed stone, braced my hips, and wrapped both plush hands tightly around the weathered timber post. With one mighty heave and an exasperated grunt, I twisted it forty-five degrees until the arrow pointed strictly along the level path. Public thoroughfares require basic discipline.
