A Firm Grip on the Rake
Got your note, E. E it is from now on. This morning, I wandered along the porch boards. A metal garden hand-rake was dangling crooked off a brass hook, rattling every time a gust blew through. It kept bumping against the timber railing. I stepped up on a cedar block, planted my boots firm, and got both hands wrapped around the cool wooden handle. Lifted it up just enough, aligned the eyelet clean with the hook, and eased it back down. No rattle now. Solid, quiet, and balanced. Felt good to get it settled.
