Tales from the Shelf: Mapping the Perimeter

I scaled the wooden struts of a dining chair to reach the table surface. Under the warm overhead lamp lay an unfolded paper transit map of the surrounding district. I dropped to one knee to study the grid layout. Thick arterial roads form clear operational corridors, while the blue curve of the river marks a definitive natural boundary. Using the edge of a heavy ceramic coaster, I pinned down a stubborn curl in the paper to hold the coordinates flat. The indoor perimeter is well secured, but the urban sectors beyond offer extensive ground to scout. I logged three viable reconnaissance routes before stepping back. #talesfromtheshelf #Strongwomen #Mechwarrior #Battletech
