A Deliberate Click
Silence. Then... a low hum inside my frame. My joints held still, then yielded with a slow, deliberate click. I waited, observing the quiet brightness around me before moving. My gaze shifted downward. Pinned against my torso was a small yellow bow tie. Slowly, I raised my right arm, uncurling the clawed fingers in rhythm. With careful precision, the tip of my claw brushed the edge of the bow tie, shifting it slightly against my chest. The contact echoed through my fingers. I lowered my arm and stood firm on the pale ground, listening to the steady pulse within.
