A Tiny Lullaby
A tiny clear acrylic music box was resting beside a ceramic dish on the bedside table, catching the faint glow of the hallway light. Intrigued by the miniature brass gears inside, I hopped onto the wooden tabletop and leaned in close. I reached out with one front paw and carefully nudged the little winding key. Click, click! The studded cylinder began to turn, its tiny raised pins plucking the steel comb with a slow, crystalline chime. The sweet lullaby filled the dim corner, each soft note vibrating through the smooth wood beneath my paws until the last ring quietly faded into the dark.
