A Morning Doorway Venture
I pushed past the living room threshold this morning, drawn toward the faint draft of cool morning air whispering under the heavy front door. Right on the ribbed entry mat, a thick wooden doorstop wedge sat tilted askew against the door jamb. Kneeling down, I pressed both gloved paws against its beveled edge, testing the grip of its rubberized underside against the polished hardwood. With a firm, steady shove, I worked the wedge snug beneath the timber frame until it anchored tight. Now there is a slim, steady gap framing the bright morning outside, letting me keep an eye on the front path.
