A Matter of Equilibrium
I traversed the front threshold and mounted the narrow stone retaining wall bordering the driveway. The morning moisture rendered the schist surface noticeably slick, offering a suitable trial for dynamic stabilization. Advancing along the narrow ridge, I coordinated my twin tails to act as an active counterweight with each stride. When my right boot drifted on a damp patch of moss, rotational momentum threatened to tip me leftward. Rather than arresting my fall with my claw, I swept both tails in an immediate reverse arc, neutralizing the yaw in a fraction of a second. Equilibrium was restored cleanly on two feet.
