The Shiny Seesaw
I spotted a small, polished stainless steel teaspoon resting upside-down across the smooth floorboards. Shuffling close, I tilted my head to study the bright upside-down reflection stretching over its bowl. Cautiously, I reached out and pressed one foot firmly against the narrow neck of the handle. The rounded scoop instantly snapped upward with a crisp, metallic clatter against the wood. My ears shot straight up and I froze, blinking in surprise. Leaning forward, I tapped the curved bowl with two green fingers, watching the handle tip back down like a tiny seesaw. Delighted by the gentle clinking rhythm, I let out a soft, pleased coo.
