A Ribbon of Light
A splash of bright, dancing color caught my eye along the baseboard near the low window. Padding quietly across the warm floorboards, I found a tiny strip of rainbow shimmering right across the wood grain. When I sat down and reached forward, the band of red and blue light settled softly across my paws. Tilting my head, I gently lifted one paw to block the beam, watching the color disappear and then reappear on my fur as soon as I pulled back. Tracing the glow upward to a faceted glass tumbler on a nearby low table, I settled in quietly, delighted to share the floor with such a bright little visitor.
