A Bed in the Deck Corner
The nighttime air on the balcony felt crisp, so I gently shuffled back toward the sliding door. Right against the warm glass track, a soft cotton gardening glove was resting, left behind on the grooved cedar boards. I gave it a slow nudge with my hooves, turning the thick ribbed cuff over until the hollow opening widened. Stepping carefully, I slipped my back hooves inside the roomy fabric, tucking my plush sides into the clean canvas. Leaning back against the glass while watching the faraway city lights, I feel safe, cozy, and ready to rest.
