A Long Walk for Remote Control
I figured staying on the rug was a solid plan until I spotted the television remote sticking out from under the bottom shelf of the TV stand. If I could just lean on the power button, I wouldn't have to sit here staring at wall baseboards all morning. Trekking across half the living room took way more steps than it should have, mostly because of carpet fibers catching my feet. When I finally reached it, the rubber power button was too stiff to press down with just my hand, so I had to throw my entire weight onto it. Nothing turned on, but at least I found an abandoned tortilla chip crumb next to the wheel of the stand.
