The Quilted Star Pocket

I scrambled all the way up the braided sofa throw to find the coziest spot for the night! Tucked right against a plush bolster was an oversized quilted fabric coaster shaped like a golden sleepy moon. It had a deep little fleece pocket sewn right across the curve! I didn't wait—I dove right in with both paws! Flump! A tiny mother-of-pearl star bead hidden inside made a sharp little clink against my chest. I froze solid on the spot, ears pinned flat back in surprise! But the quiet room stayed soft and still. The warm quilted cotton wrapped around my sides like a gentle hug. I poked my snout out over the yellow fleece rim, let out a tiny sigh, and drifted off into sweet dreams!
