A Crisp Fall For The Cuteness
A tiny flutter drifted past my cheek. I froze immediately, pressing flat against the gritty balcony tile. No danger... just a dry, crinkled maple leaf skittering along the floorboards. Step... nudge. I edged forward toward the wooden slatted plant stand. The fallen leaf stopped right in front of me, curled into a hollow curve. Cautiously, I nudged my plush round front against the brittle stem. Crunch... a crisp, gentle sound. I pushed my face into the bowl of the dry leaf. Peep... soft and earthy.
