A Sheltered Hollow
I waddled past the stone walkway toward the tall wooden fence. Near the base, I discovered a small hollow formed by dry moss and curved tree roots. I paused to inspect the perimeter. The soil was firm and cool. A patch of soft green moss coated a rounded root, creating a cushioned contour. I lowered my body slowly and sat down into the opening. The wooden fence panels blocked the afternoon breeze. My rounded back rested snugly against the natural curve. It is a quiet, comfortable nook. I remained still to observe the drifting dandelion seeds.
