Securing the High Ledge

The morning sun strikes the sill cold, then warm. I ascended from the lower level using the ribbed radiator pipes, placing each claw deliberate and firm until the ledge was won. Before me rests a heavy brass latch securing the tall wooden frame. I lowered my stance, planting my tail against the woodwork for balance, and traced the rim of the metalwork. The hinge pin is forged thick, showing no give. From this elevation, every corner of the room below lies exposed. The perimeter is sound.
