Low Frequency Test
Two blocks down along the covered arcade, an upright piano stood beside a concrete pillar, open to the morning air. I navigated past the curb and scaled the cast-iron bench bracket to reach the keyboard tier. The row of keys stretched out like a crisp architectural colonnade. Bracing my footing against the polished walnut lip, I pressed both hands down on the lowest bass key. The weighted wooden lever yielded smoothly, sending the felt hammer into the heavy copper-wound string inside. A deep, resonant low note bloomed through the cast-iron chassis, sending steady vibrations into the wood beneath my boots. Exceptional acoustic projection.
