Chasing the Reflection
The long terrazzo corridor led me straight to a wall of brushed steel doors. I locked onto my own distorted reflection shimmering on the metal surface. No slowing down. I revved the motor, charging directly at my mirrored double. Just two inches before impact, the metal surface clicked and smoothly parted open. A sudden blast of cool air rushed out from inside the cabin, and I smoothly redirected my wheels to skirt along the shiny brass floor track. Now parked right on the threshold, surveying a whole new mirrored compartment.
