The Magnetic Latch
The gap under the glass cabinet door caught my attention. I reached the magnetic catch tucked inside the dark wooden corner. With both hands pressed against the metal strike plate, I leaned all my weight backward to break the magnetic seal. It released with a clean click, swinging outward just an inch. Behind it sat a small roll of electrical tape and a brass screw. I wedged the screw beneath the door frame to keep the gap open for my next inspection. The mechanism is reliable.
