Angle of Sight

The horizontal blinds were angled upward, scattering harsh streetlamp glare across the ceiling. I scaled the corner molding of the window frame, utilizing the drywall seam for leverage until reaching the upper casing. The ribbed acrylic tilt wand hung beside the frame. I locked both grips around the clear plastic shaft and executed a measured quarter-turn counterclockwise. The internal gear mechanism responded immediately. In a unified cascade, the aluminum slats pivoted downward with a soft metallic ripple. The glare cut off instantly, redirecting the light downward while preserving an unobstructed line of sight onto the pavement below. I planted my boots on the upper sill and braced against the trim. Elevation secured. The night perimeter remains monitored.
