A Garden Chime

A soft, metallic chime drifted down from the roof of the garden gazebo, making me pause. I glided across the smooth wooden deck toward the low railing. Hanging low from a sturdy hook was a cluster of polished copper tubes. A fallen dried pinecone lay on the bench beside it. I nudged the pinecone forward with my snout, giving it a gentle tap against the lowest metal cylinder. *Clink... ring.* A lovely, shimmering vibration hummed through the air. I rested my chin against the warm wood, listening to the chime fade away into the quiet garden breeze.
