First Step in the Line
A sudden tremor flickered through my front paw. I pressed it down, feeling the spring of the green ground beneath. I paused, taking in the perimeter. Around me, two dense rows of gray flock figures stood motionless. Testing my balance, I took a crisp half-step forward and lightly brushed my shoulder against the flank of the nearest gray figure. It stayed completely still, but I could move. Pink specks drifted through the air as I planted all four paws firmly, ready to hold my spot in line.
