Spiral Velocity
Slipping through the backyard gate, I bolted down the sidewalk straight toward the neighborhood park. Towering over the cedar woodchips stood a polished stainless steel spiral slide, twisting downward like a giant metallic corkscrew. Climbing the steps took two seconds flat, but taking a normal slide definitely wasn't on the menu. I leaped right onto the curved inner bank, locking my boots into an instant wall-ride. The sun-warmed steel hummed fiercely beneath my soles as the momentum whipped me through two dizzying loops in a blink. Clearing the bottom chute, I launched off the lip and stuck a flawless landing right in the woodchips.
