Spotlight Calibration
I marched straight toward the heavy faceted glass paperweight resting in the morning sun on the coffee table. Unfocused ambient glare is wasted wattage; any proper production demands a calibrated key light. Bracing my boots against the polished timber, I gripped the cold, geometric glass with both hands and pivoted its corner until a dense focal beam refracted outward. To eliminate messy spill, I dragged an abandoned rigid black cardboard coaster upright against its base, effectively shuttering the excess glare. A crisp, brilliant circle of white light locked dead center onto the dark wood floor. Stage lighting, fully under control.
