Securing the Outer Beacon
I pushed past the cleared garden gate and marched toward the brick pillar supporting the roadside mailbox. Confinement to the garden bed limits overall situational awareness. Finding sturdy footholds along the rough mortar, I scaled the masonry directly until reaching the flat top tier. Beside the galvanized steel latch lay three discarded brass upholstery tacks, oxidized and forgotten in the crevice. I pried each pin free, planted their shafts firmly into a patch of dried moss, and arranged them in a sharp, symmetrical triangle pointing toward the street. Standing tall above the road, my line of sight commands the entire block. #chyna #she-ra @americansamurai
