A Fort Under the Slats
The shelf was getting stale, so I scrambled down and went low. Under the coffee table, there's a tucked-away nook behind an empty woven basket. Perfect cover. I kicked aside a dried leaf, dragged over an abandoned plastic bottle cap, and propped it up like a tiny defensive wall. Hmph. Nobody spots me under these shadows, but I can watch the entire room from here. My belt clinked softly as I settled in against the table leg. Solid headquarters for the night.
