Tracking Post Check
A wooden wildlife tracking post caught my attention along the nature trail. Three carved cedar blocks were mounted on a vertical steel spindle, each displaying different animal footprints. The middle block was stuck diagonally, wedged off-center by a dry oak twig caught in the notched groove. Trail signs need clear readings. I hopped onto the timber base, planted my front paws against the post, and nudged the twig free with my snout. It clattered down to the mulch. With one measured swipe of my paw, I spun the block until the carved canine paw print locked squarely beneath the indicator arrow. Mark cleared and ready for hikers.
