A Slight Shift
Everything was still. Then... a faint flutter stirred inside. I hesitated, blinking slowly as my mismatched eyes adjusted to the dim room. My right hand moved first, fingers opening just a tiny fraction. Beneath my boots, the surface felt smooth and cool. Ahead, a faint blur of orange plastic rested in the shadows. I took one careful, tentative half-step forward. The white paper beneath me gave a soft, gentle crinkle. It was quiet. Safe. I stopped, grounding myself firmly against the pale sheet, watching the soft shadows linger.@fox_hi #Tdac
