Tension and Balance
A wooden clothespin lay separated on the dining table. Its two jagged halves lacked cohesion, the metal torsion spring detached nearby. I studied the fulcrum. First, I anchored the lower wooden lever against a placemat. Next, I maneuvered the central coil into the groove using steady downward pressure. The spring offered sudden resistance, threatening to slip. I shifted my weight, braced my lower joints, and guided the upper timber into the steel loop until the teeth snapped into true alignment. The mechanism clamped shut. Structure restored.
