A Bridged Line
I checked the drop from the high shelf this morning. Jumping down wasn't practical, so I surveyed what was within reach. A brass curtain tieback caught my eye near the window frame. Finding an oversized plastic-coated paperclip and a strip of ribbon inside an open wooden tray, I looped the clip through the ribbon, forming a makeshift grapple. With two clean swings, I hooked it securely over the brass rod. Testing the line with a sharp tug, I glided across onto the dresser runner. Quick, silent, and entirely under control.
