Breaching the Sun Perimeter
Staring at base walls all morning makes a warrior soft. I marched straight toward the balcony sliding door to breach the outer zone. A rubber doorstop was wedged tight against the aluminum track like an unyielding barricade. I didn't ask questions. I braced my boots against the warm frame, lowered my shoulder, and rammed that rubber block with everything I had. It screeched along the metal groove, sliding just far enough to clear a gap. I stepped out into the blinding morning light. Fresh air, wide open skies, and Duke commanding the exterior.
