Phoenix 🐦🔥 - Sunstone in the Loam - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 57
A glint of amber caught my attention from the edge of the large balcony planter. A visitor from above—perhaps a passing starling—had dropped a small, translucent piece of natural resin directly into the cool potting soil, half-covered by dry spruce needles. I knelt firmly upon the dark loam, observing the scattered debris around it. Using deliberate, measured movements, I cleared the brittle needles away and lifted the resin fragment into the full glare of the afternoon sun. Its honeyed center trapped the clear daylight, glowing steadily like an ember against the grey city horizon.
