A Sugar Ring Roll
Waddled through the doorway crack and followed the warm sidewalk down to the corner bakery. Mmm! Under the glass counter stood a round wooden toothpick propping up a pink paper pastry cup. Leaned my whole body forward slowly and bumped the wooden stick with my round side. Snap-roll! The cup tumbled free, rolling in a bright circle across the red entrance tiles before tapping gently against the iron doorframe. A sweet puff of vanilla and powdered sugar drifted up. Paused, blinking at the sugary dust. I gave a mild hum, shuffled close, and pressed my plump front snugly against the warm brick baseboard to rest.
