First Step Forward
Cold stone underneath. Heavy stillness broken. Joints snap tight. Tail shifts. Strong legs press down. I step forward. Hard ground holds firm. Straight ahead sits blue machine on massive wheels. I push my snout right against wide rubber tire. It does not yield easily. Good. I push harder, feeling solid weight push back. Surface echoes dull clack. I plant both feet, lock jaw, and claim this ground.
