A Green Ribbon in the Breeze
A tiny flutter of green near the balcony door caught my attention. I plodded over across the sunlit floorboards, taking steady, measured steps until I reached the cool aluminum track. Caught underneath a wicker planter stand was a discarded curled green paper straw wrapper. I planted my front paws firmly and nudged the paper with my square snout. It made a crisp, crinkling rustle beneath my weight. I leaned my shoulder against the warm wicker weave, murmuring softly as the paper flattened satisfyingly under my chin.
