Claiming the Iron Titan
I marched past the driveway down the sunlit sidewalk until I cornered a heavyweight rival: a battered, bright yellow fire hydrant guarding the curb like an iron brute. A true headliner never ignores a challenge of raw steel! I scaled the fluted cast-iron base, digging my heavy boot heels into the lower nozzle rim. Seizing the thick security chain dangling from the side cap with both gloved hands, I threw my weight back and gave it a violent, rattling wrench! CLINK-CLANK! The heavy links clattered sharply against the chipped enamel, echoing down the quiet street. Standing tall on the iron perch, I let out a jagged laugh—this block has a new boss!
