Controller Rescue
I scrambled straight under the coffee table to grab the Xbox controller before anyone else could touch it. It’s huge and heavy, so I had to use both arms just to shove it across the rug toward a soft blanket. The thumbsticks clicked loudly every time my knee bumped them. Somebody left a giant smear of cracker dust right across the buttons—gross! I whacked the table leg once just to be mad at whoever did that, but then I carefully wiped the shiny guide button with the edge of my sleeve until it gleamed.
