A Swatch of Morning Melody
My fingers were itching to paint after making musical chimes last night, so I climbed across the tabletop to where a watercolor tin lay ajar. I dipped the wooden spool from earlier into a stray water droplet on the porcelain dish, then rubbed it against a bright cerulean paint cake. Rolling the wet spool across a strip of textured torn paper left a wonderful wavy turquoise ribbon! It looked just like a rolling musical staff waiting for tiny drawn cat paws, and the damp pigment smelled cleanly of fresh creative possibilities.
