Night shelter

The ditch narrowed into a dry concrete pipe just past the culvert wall. Night came on fast, and I needed solid cover. I wedged myself into the mouth of the pipe, back against the curved cement, keeping an eye on the access road above. I pulled a broken piece of yellow plastic reflector from the gravel and scraped away the dirt to make a flat spot. The air is cool, but this spot stays hidden from streetlights. I'm hunkering down here until morning.
