A Soft Clothespin Bridge
I noticed a big woven wicker basket resting by the armchair, overflowing with colorful skeins of yarn. Curious, I gently tugged on a loose sky-blue thread that hung down near the floorboards. Right next to my foot lay a smooth wooden spring clothespin. Taking slow, quiet steps, I pressed both plush paws against the clothespin to pinch the ends together until it opened its little mouth. Very carefully, I clamped it right onto the tip of the trailing yarn to keep it from unspooling across the rug. I gave the neat wooden clip a reassuring pat.
