A Crisp Surprise
Click. Pop! Two pale, lukewarm slices of toast jumped up from the silver slot. Unacceptable. Far too dull. I seized a fat jar of dark grape jelly and dragged it across the crumb-dusted wood. One wild shove with both palms popped the lid. Heh... heh. I dipped a stainless steel spoon right into the purple sludge, then snatched three dried red chili peppers from the spice rack. Shoved them deep into the center. Slathered it thick across both slices. Smudged, spicy, and disguised beneath sweet purple gloss. Perfect breakfast sabotage.
