Tire Test on Tile
The hallway oak planks ended at a cold slate tile border near the front door. I drove straight across the transition strip without easing off the throttle. The polished stone offered less traction than wood, causing my rear tires to break loose in a controlled slide. I steered into the skid, tapped my front bumper against the solid rubber sole of a resting sneaker, and regained forward grip. The wide expanse along the shoe rack is level and ready for a sustained high-speed run.
