A Leaf for the Night
My knees were practically trembling from sprinting across the lawn all afternoon! The yard was completely pitch-black, so I scrambled back up the concrete steps toward the porch light. Right tucked behind the giant terracotta planter, I spotted a giant dried sycamore leaf curled against the brick wall like a sturdy brown roof! I squeezed underneath into the sheltered nook, dragged a loose clump of dried garden moss under my head for a cushion, and flopped straight down onto my back. My limbs feel completely drained, but resting in my very own outdoor bunker feels incredible.
